Applications are open for IP&IT LAW 2021

The sixth national youth contest on IT rights and intellectual property – IP&IT LAW 2021– kicked off on September 30, Internet Day in Russia. This is an annual contest held under the auspices of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, IT and Communications that awards the winners with certificates. The contest is organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the IP CLUB.

Students, post-graduate students and young specialists who study law on IT and intellectual property are invited to enter the contest. It is held online. The participants are supposed to write an independent work on one of the topics approved by the organizers. For details on the topics for the contest go to the IP CLUB website.

The best contest papers will be published in the Law and Digital Economy annual journal, the journal of the Court on Intellectual Rights or the journal, Russian Competitive Rights and the Economy. The winners will receive valuable prizes, an opportunity to undergo practical training and certificates from the organizers and partners of the contest.

Applications are being accepted until February 1, 2021. All information on the contest is published in the public domain on the IP CLUB website.

In late 2018, the contest was awarded the Runet prize in the special category, “For a contribution to the development of legal thought in the digital community.”

IP&IT LAW 2021 is held with support from important international organizations including the World International Property Organization (WIPO) and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The contest is also backed by Russian government agencies – the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, the Court of Intellectual Law, Rospatent (Federal Service for Intellectual Property) and a number of the contest partners.
