Russian Internet Governance Forum postponed until 2021

The coronavirus pandemic is making further adjustments to event plans. Today, the Organizing Committee of the 11th Russian Internet Governance Forum decided to postpone the forum until 2021 due to the unstable epidemiological situation and in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health, rights and interests of forum guests and participants.

“Postponing the forum until next year is a necessary measure, as we cannot risk the health of our participants,” said Andrei Vorobyev, director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ. “At the same time, RIGF is not just a platform for delivering interesting reports but a meeting place for friends and like-minded people, a place for a lively and informal exchange of views, and we think it would be wrong to move this platform to an online format. Rescheduling the forum for next year will allow us to keep the tradition of holding it on April 7, the birthday of the .RU domain. I hope that next spring we will be able to shake hands not in virtual reality but in person. We look forward to seeing everyone at RIGF 2021.”

Registration for the 11th Russian Internet Governance Forum will be announced later. Follow our updates.
