Well-known domain investor Rick Schwartz, who modestly calls himself the “domain king,” has shown one more time that this title is not for nothing. He announced via Twitter, that he had reached an agreement with an undisclosed buyer on the sale of the GoBet.com domain. The phrase “go bet” is an urge to gamble money. The likely buyer is a major betting or gambling company or represents the interests of a company in that industry.
In subsequent reports, Schwartz says the negotiations were difficult. The talks went on for 18 months; the first time the buyer contacted him was in June 2019 when he offered $70,000 for the domain name. The answer was, “don’t waste my time.” Schwartz started to negotiate seriously only after the bid reached $280,000. Still, he did not accept the proposal at that time. The sale price is impressive: the parties agreed to $850,000 for the domain name. If the transaction closes before December 31, it will be this year’s second largest in the domains market, Domain Investing reports.
