The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ is mourning with the entire country for the victims of the villainous terrorist attack that took place in Crocus City Hall. We express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed in this tragedy and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured.
Today, funds are being raised all over the country to help the victims, but we would like to remind you once again: be vigilant! Do not fall for fraudulent appeals for support that are always more prevalent in difficult times as the unscrupulous take advantage of people’s desire to help others.
Follow these precautions:
- 1. Do not click links from any email received from unfamiliar addresses.
- Even if you receive a letter or message with a link from a friend or the head of your company, remember that they could have been deceived or hacked.
- If people you know are raising funds, call them back before transferring money.
- If fundraising is carried out by a charitable foundation, go to the website without using the link: type the address in the browser, and check whether the foundation is actually raising funds.
- A phishing site may look like a real one, so check the links on the site’s internal pages; they are generally fake on phishing sites.
- Do not enter your personal or financial information on unfamiliar sites.
