On August 17 at 19:00 an online seminar for system administrators will be held on installing and configuring a mail service with support for Cyrillic domain names and email addresses in the .РФ domain. Participation in the seminar is free.
The event will be hosted by Igor Lidin, developer, Russian expert in the implementation of internationalized mail.
Domain names in Russian in .РФ have been successfully used by Internet users for more than 10 years and have proven to be convenient in communication and easy to remember means of addressing. However, there is still an opinion that e-mail in Russian does not work.
The seminar will analyze the current situation with the support of Russian-language e-mail and demonstrate in practice technical solutions and standards that allow solving this problem today. Participation will be useful for those who wish to refresh their knowledge of Cyrillic addressing tools and improve their professional skills in the field of deploying mail systems with IDN and EAI support.
During the seminar, there will be presented a stack of free software, which can be used to deploy a mail service with support for Cyrillic email addresses enabled. The proposed software stack allows not only the exchange of mail messages with internationalized email addresses, but also the creation of Cyrillic accounts (using Unicode characters before and after the @ sign), for example, in the .РФ, .SU, .МОСКВА, .ДЕТИ, .РУС and other IDN top-level domains.
As a result of the event, participants will receive not only basic skills in configuring mail software, but also practical knowledge in the field of internationalization technologies on the Internet and technical solutions available for this.
