.Com prices increase from September 1st

On September 1 this year, Verisign, which manages the .COM top-level domain, will increase prices for registration and renewal of domain names in it, the Domain Name Wire recalls. The wholesale price for registrar companies is currently $8.39. It will increase to $8.97, in addition to this amount should be added another 18 cents, which are deducted for each transaction to the budget of the ICANN. As a result, domain registrars will cost $ 9.15, and they, in turn, will increase this amount even more so as not to work at a loss.

The price does not look too scary, but it should be understood that many domain investors manage large portfolios of tens and hundreds of domain names. And on such volumes, the increase in prices will affect much more tangibly. Therefore, it would be very reasonable for investors to use the time remaining before the price increase to renew registrations, since this can be done at current prices for up to 10 years. You should also keep in mind that Verisign's contract with ICANN provides for the possibility of a further seven percent price increase even in 2023 and 2024. And it would be naive to hope that Verisign does not take advantage of this opportunity.
