On May 16, 2022, in Moscow the Higher School of Economics hosted the final of the School of Real Affairs competition of projects and applied research based on the real tasks of employers. In total, more than 4,000 people took part in the competition in person and in absentia.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, more than 4,000 students of 7-11 years of schools, colleges and universities from 24 regions of Russia, as well as the Republic of Belarus, France, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Uganda, Abkhazia, Transnistria, Kazakhstan, Armenia took part in the competition.
The competition began in November 2021 with the Case Fair in the Smart City pavilion on the territory of VDNKh, where 80 cases were offered from 56 employer partners in programming, education, gamification, PR and marketing, robotics, infocommunications, design, psychology, volunteering, engineering and many other areas.
On May 16, 246 best teams presented their projects.
Among the employers was the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, which once again offered participants to develop a script for a game module for implementation on the educational portal "Study the Internet & Govern It".
The teams worked on game scenarios for six months, four of them reached the final. Teams of schoolchildren from Moscow, Smolensk and Syktyvkar presented scenarios for educational modules for the "Study the Internet & Govern It" project. The finalized scenarios on the topics “Cryptocurrency”, “How a computer works”, “Big data”, “IT professions” were evaluated by experts involved by the Coordination Center.
The winners:
- 1st place: Pre-university team of NRNU MEPhI lyceum 1511 of the city of Moscow, the topic of the module is “Big Data”.
- 2nd place: the team "SBGEI SCHOOL 2010" of the city of Moscow, the topic of the module is "How a computer works".
- 3rd place: the team of the Smolensk Regional Technological Academy, the city of Smolensk, the topic of the module is “Cryptocurrencies”.
- 4th place: the team of the Municipal Autonomous Educational Institution "Lyceum of People's Diplomacy", Syktyvkar, the topic of the module is "IT professions", the team was awarded incentive prizes.
The winners were awarded prizes-gadgets that will be useful in their studies and leisure, souvenirs and diplomas from the Coordination Center for .RU/.РФ domains. In addition, after finalizing the content, developing design and programming game mechanics, the scenarios of the winning teams will be added to the portal of the project "Study the Internet & Govern It" in the "Knowledge" section with the authors indicated.
Elena Orlova, director of school No. 2086: “For the tenth time we are holding our competition. A lot has changed over the years. Only one thing is constant: our young participants work on serious projects for a whole year, study, learn new things, enrich themselves with new ideas, values and meanings. And most importantly, they receive knowledge and skills that they can apply in later life. And this is the meaning of our “School of Real Affairs”.
“The Coordination Center is taking part in the competition for the seventh time. It should be noted a very high level of work on the project and the scenario of the participants who made it to the final, especially those who won prizes. The knowledge and skills to work on the collection, processing and systematization of information on given topics leave no doubt that the participants can study and master any area of activity and become highly qualified specialists in the future. These guys are the future of our country,” said Olga Yakovleva, Head of the Project Department of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, who was also a member of the expert commission of the School of Real Affairs.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, the "School of Real Affairs" was held for the 10th time. The organizers of the competition annually are School No. 2086, the Department of Education and Science of the city of Moscow, the Department of Information Technologies of the city of Moscow, the City Project "School of New Technologies", the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University, "Academy of the Successful Generation" project of "Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia", NUST MISIS. The general partner of the competition is the Volnoe Delo social innovation support fund, founded by industrialist Oleg Deripaska.
