Explore the Internet & Govern It! project presented in St. Petersburg

On October 14–15, 2021, St. Petersburg hosted the first National Congress of the Heads of Educational Organizations Governing Councils of Russia.

Taking part in the congress were over 1,500 participants from 58 Russian regions: officials of federal, regional and municipal educational authorities, chairs and board members of Russian schools, directors and deputy heads of educational organizations, teachers, and parents.

The session dedicated to upbringing and cybersecurity was held by Olga Rubtsova, Rector of the Innovative Education and Development Academy and editor-in-chief of the Vneshkolnik magazine, and Khmaira Zagladina, Head of the Center for Socialization, Upbringing and Additional Education of the Russkoye Slovo publishing house, editor-in-chief of the popular science magazine, Uchitelsky Klub (Teachers’ Club). Teachers and heads of educational institutions were given a presentation on the Explore the Internet & Govern It! social educational project.

In her talk “Digital Literacy via Games,” Project Manager of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Tatyana Novikova spoke about governing councils’ experience of using the Coordination Center’s projects. She said that for five years the Family IT Marathon has been held based on the Explore the Internet & Govern It! project with the support of the Innovative Education and Development Academy. In conclusion, it was suggested that the next Family IT Marathon should be held especially for members of the governing councils of Russian educational institutions.
