Rostelecom Solar and the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ have signed an agreement on cooperation to prevent malicious activity on the internet.
Under this agreement, the Coordination Center recognizes Rostelecom Solar as a competent organization for detecting violations using country-code domains. As a competent organization, Rostelecom Solar will collect and analyze data on the websites used for various types of unlawful activity on the internet and will be able to submit requests with accredited registrars on undelegating exposed malicious domains in RU and .РФ.
Rostelecom Solar is a company that is part of the Rostelecom group, a nationwide provider of services and technology for protecting information assets, targeted monitoring and information security. The company not only successfully operates in Russia but it is also a member of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST). The company’s many years of experience and high competence in information security will boost the efforts to counter the activity of the websites that pose a threat to Russian users and websites.
The Coordination Center started cooperating with competent organizations in 2012. These companies report to the Coordination Center and accredited registrars any websites containing illegal content, as well as incidents of phishing, unauthorized access to information systems and distribution of malware using .РФ and .RU domains. The registrars have the right to stop delegating domain names to such websites.
The Coordination Center is currently working with 11 competent organizations, including the National Computer Incident Response and Coordination Center, the Safe Internet League, Group-IB, Kaspersky Lab, RU-CERT, the Regional Public Center of Internet Technology (ROCIT), the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor), Rostelecom Solar, BI.Zone, the Central Bank of Russia and Dr.Web. Any internet user can report unlawful use of a website to the hotline of any of these organizations and measures will be taken immediately.
