Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ’s projects presented at CENTR’s technical workshop

On February 25, the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries held the 44th CENTR Technical Workshop. Taking part in the traditional technical workshop were representatives of European ccTLD registries, New Zealand and Japanese domains, as well as the pan-European domain .EU and .ORG.

The participants discussed issues related to implementing the Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP). Representatives of several ccTLD registries spoke about their solutions, and ICANN representative Francisco Arias shared an overview of the existing policy for implementing RDAP in gTLDs.

Discussion of the current DNSSEC Key Signing Ceremony was another important topic. Benno Overeinder of NLnet Labs noted the absence of a common approach to this ceremony and the difficulties that became especially apparent during the pandemic. He presented draft documents and a tool set to standardize and automatize this procedure.

Vadim Mikhailov, the Coordination Center’s infrastructure consultant, took part in the Tour de Table session, where association members exchanged news about their current and planned projects. Mikhailov talked about the Coordination Center’s projects: Поддерживаю.РФ, Domain Patrol, and WHOIS+, among others. Moreover, he reported on the recent implementation of the Data Escrow registry mechanism and spoke about the launch of developing a test Cyrillic mail platform that meets the criteria of universal acceptance. Vadim Mikhailov also reminded the seminar participants that the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ will mark its 20th anniversary this year and invited everyone to take part in the anniversary celebration events.
