On January 25, a meeting of the Council of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ took place. The agenda included a review of the draft Priority Areas of Activity (Development Strategy) of the Center until 2025, as well as amendments to Coordination Center documents and financial and organizational issues.
The Council members considered and adopted as a basis the draft Priority Areas of Activity (Development Strategy) of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ until 2025. Work on the document will continue. The Council members and the Center’s founders will submit their proposals on the draft strategy by March 1, 2021. After that, the proposals will be considered, and the final version of the document will be presented.
Also, the meeting participants deemed it appropriate to finance the Competence Center for Global IT Cooperation and the Center for Monitoring and Protection of Rights in the Digital Environment. The decision to establish these non-profit organizations was made at the General Meeting held on November 10, 2020. The Center of Competence for Global IT Cooperation will be engaged in research, educational and analytical activities and will help create favorable conditions for promoting Russian initiatives and approaches at the international level. The Center for the Monitoring and Protection of Rights in the Digital Environment will aim to ensure the implementation of human and civil rights and freedoms in the digital environment; assist in improving the safety of the use of information and communication technology and the internet; and help boost the digital literacy of citizens of the Russian Federation.
At the end of the meeting, the Council members considered a number of organizational issues.
