Internet for All named best documentary at international film festival

On November 22, winners of the 12th Profession: Journalist Moscow International Television Festival were announced at the Central House of Cinematographers. The festival was organized by the Russian Film Directors Guild with the support of the Moscow Department of Mass Media and Advertising. The forum program included television shows, reports, stories, documentaries and action movies dedicated to the festival’s main idea: to popularize and promote the profession of a journalist and reinvent its role in society today.

The film Internet for All won the Best Documentary category for its striking examples to motivate people discover their potential using new technologies. The film was directed by Mikhail Komlev in 2019 and commissioned by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ to mark the 25th anniversary of the Russian ccTLD .RU.

The film explains how the internet can influence people’s lives: it became a social lift for some protagonists, helping them gain new skills and do their life’s work, while helping others to find their families, make new friends, carry out environmental projects and even become famous.

Last November, Internet for All took part in the Growing Up Together Chelyabinsk Educational Film Festival as the opening film. Special screenings held in seven Russian regions drew an audience of 2,500. The film was also shown at regional television companies.

The full version of the film is available on the Coordination Center’s official YouTube channel for everyone to watch.
