Several domains from Rick Schwartz's portfolio for sale during NamesCon 2022

In late August and early September, the city of Austin, the capital of Texas, will host the NamesCon 2022 conference, the largest meeting of domain business representatives. One of the important events of this conference, which has been held since 2014, is the auction, which traditionally puts up valuable domain names. This conference will not be an exception.

Well-known domain investor Rick Schwartz, the owner of the unofficial title of "domain king", has confirmed that he will put up for auction several domains from his portfolio, corresponding to the years of the twentieth century. According to the Domain Gang resource, these are the domains 1961.com, 1962.com, 1964.com, 1969.com and 1978.com. In addition to the fact that four-character .COM domain names are extremely valuable in their own right, their reference to a specific year of the last century can also significantly affect the cost.

The database of the resource NameBio currently contains information about transactions with 22 domain names of this kind. The largest of them was the acquisition of the 1992.com domain, for which the buyer paid $110,000. And the cheapest domain is 1910.com - it cost the buyer only $676. It will be interesting to see if the results of the upcoming NamesCon 2022 auction will change these statistics.
