Yachts.com domain sold for $600,000

Entrepreneur Eric Borgos announced the sale of the Yachts.com domain name. The domain was acquired by him about a year ago for 350 thousand dollars. And since then, He bought the domain last year for $350,000 with plans to develop it. He tried many things: boat brokering, chartering, buying boats for cash, peer-to-peer boat rentals, self-driving and electric boats, selling boat insurance, and even turning the site into a metaverse. None of them caught. It is worth saying that perhaps a businessman should just be more patient and not change the direction of his work every few months.

Anyway, Eric Borgos lost interest in his project. But he very successfully parted with the Yachts.com domain, selling it for $600,000. As of today, this is the seventh largest domain transaction registered since the beginning of the year (of those published in the public domain). How much Borgos managed to spend on his unsuccessful undertakings is unknown, but in any case, he was not left empty-handed.

It is noteworthy that this is the second case of this kind in his business career. Domain Name Wire reports that Eric Borgos previously purchased the adventure.com domain for $200,000. An attempt to launch a business with it also failed, but the domain was also sold for more than it was bought. The conclusion is quite obvious: even if your business has failed, but you have invested in the purchase of an attractive domain name for it, then you are not in danger of a complete collapse - good domains are always valuable, and their price is only growing.
