August proved more successful for generic top-level domains (gTLDs) than July, according to TLD Investors, which cited Namebio statistics. In all, 219 gTLDs were sold in August; this only includes transactions that were published publically.
The total sum of August 2021 gTLD sales were $273,076, a 40-percent increase on July’s $197,300. The new TLD .XYZ had the most sales with 57 names. It was followed by .APP and .CLUB with 21 and 12 sales each. The most expensive purchases included bit.cloud that changed hands for $45,000, rush.app at $16,000, and guns.club, 10,429.
