Patricia Arquette gets control of the .com domain named for her

Famous Hollywood actress Patricia Arquette finally decided to consider the legal status of "her" domain name. Arquette made her film debut in 1987 in the trequel of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Since then, the actress has starred in many films and won many prizes, including an Oscar, a Golden Globe, an Emmy and a BAFTA. Meanwhile, the domain PatriciaArquette.com was registered in 2003 but not by the actress or her representatives.

The surprising thing is the fact that for 17 years, neither Patricia Arquette herself nor her lawyers seem to have paid any attention to the domain name. They finally decided to look into it on April 6, when a UDPR was filed with the National Arbitration Forum. The interests of the actress were represented by lawyers from My Fist Productions, Inc., which owns her intellectual property rights. The domain registrant did not respond to inquiries, and during the proceedings it was also found that the domain was parked on a page containing advertising links to websites offering films with Patricia Arquette. Judge Linda M. Brown had no trouble with a ruling. The court transferred the legal right to manage PatriciaArquette.com to Patricia Arquette.
