This week, the Academy for Innovative Education and Development is holding the 10th National Applied Research Conference Information Security and Children in Moscow, with the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ acting as the event’s general partner.
Experts will spend five days discussing efforts to build a safe digital environment in Russia, as well as the opportunities of using AI for educational and personnel development purposes, along with mechanisms for enabling the state and the civil society to regulate the way children and young people use the digital space, preserving cultural diversity, and other matters.
Coordination Center Director Andrey Vorobyev took the floor during the plenary session. In his remarks, he focused on the Coordination Center’s outreach and educational projects:
“The Coordination Center leads a system-wide effort to promote responsible and safe digital behavior. Being able to work not only with children and young people, but also with teachers has principled importance for us. In today’s world, a teacher is also a digital mentor and guide with a mission to help school and university students master technology in a conscious manner and knowingly. We have been carrying out the School of Mentors project together with the conference’s organizer and our long-standing partner, the Academy for Innovative Education and Development. Working in tandem with the Center’s other initiatives, it helps create a resilient ecosystem for promoting digital education for the younger generation and the teaching profession,” he pointed out.
“We pay special attention to programs aimed at creating a talent pool for the internet governance domain. This includes the summer school on internet governance, as well as a dedicated course for young people. We usually hold it ahead of the Russian Internet Governance Forum. Registration for RIGF 2026 is now open. It will take place on April 7 and 8, and the deadline for applying for this course is tomorrow. We invite the young participants to join the educational track so that they can get an insight into the key topics on the forum’s agenda with the help from experts,” Andrey Vorobyev added.
Held since 2016, the National Applied Research Conference Information Security and Children usually takes place over an entire week as a hybrid event. It is part of the Safe Childhood Information Environment national project, with its agenda focusing on research and methods for building a child-friendly positive environment. Participants also review the performance of various working groups within the expert council and innovative platforms. The conference has a tradition of structuring its agenda along the following tracks: promoting digital hygiene, personal development in the digital age, career guidance in the digital environment, extracurricular activities and pre-school education amid the digital transformation, promoting positive content, preserving family wellbeing, and developing volunteering.
