Topic submission closes for RIGF 2026

The topic submission for discussion at RIGF 2026 has closed. Between December 12, 2025 and January 31, 2026, interested users submitted ideas for the agenda of the 16th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF), with a total of over 50 proposals received.

AI and new technology governance generated the highest interest: participants suggested discussing issues related to ensuring security during AI development, assessing the dependence of personal AI agents on access channels and their impact on corporate performance, exploring the possibility of incorporating AI skills into professional standards, and outlining the overall prospects for the advancement of AI up to 2030. Last year, AI regulation was also among the most popular topics. We plan to include AI and new technology governance in the RIGF 2026 program.

Survey participants also proposed focusing on the topic of cybersecurity and online child protection, discussing the future of children’s digital security, outlining new approaches to risk forecasting, and exploring the issue of building a proactive model to protect kids in the digital environment. Another topic that received a high number of responses and suggestions is data autonomy and privacy. The survey participants suggested discussing the boundaries between the digital sovereignty of a state and that of an individual, as well as exploring the concept of legal regulation for the data market in Russia.

We thank all survey participants. The final program for RIGF 2026 will be created based on the submitted suggestions and global trends.

The 16th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2026), organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, will take place on April 7-8, 2026, in a hybrid format.
