Registration and the creative stage of the 14th Nationwide Study the Internet & Govern It! Online Championship have concluded. The event is traditionally organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, with support from Rostelecom and the .ДЕТИ domain.
Nearly 5,500 school and university students registered for the 2025 Championship, with approximately 400 forming 170 teams. Participants represent 45 regions of Russia.
The second stage, which launched on November 12, requires individual competitors and teams to complete 12 game-based tasks in the online tournament – this year themed around multilingualism on the internet. By completing these tasks, participants will learn about the role of the Russian language online, how languages evolve under digital influence, the concept of universal acceptance, the connection between multilingualism and cybersecurity/encoding methods, as well as the history of .РФ – the first and largest Cyrillic domain, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
The tournament module is available in each participant’s account until November 25.
Results will be announced on December 4. Winners in individual and team categories will receive diplomas and valuable prizes – certificates for the OZON marketplace, Alpina Publishing Group, or the LitRes digital and audiobook library. Awards for team captains of prize-winning teams include the book International Internet Governance, the Study the Internet Mentorship School’s Methodological Guide, and a set of useful promotional materials from the Coordination Center and its educational initiatives.
