On December 14, the Runet-2025 Awards ceremony will take place at Pashkov House. The awards ceremony was established 22 years ago by the Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC) to recognize and encourage leaders of the IT industry for their important contribution to developing Russian technology and improving social wellbeing.
Organizations, IT solutions and projects that contribute to the development of the Russian internet can enter the competition by submitting their applications on the awards’ official website until November 20, 2025.
As before, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ sponsors the Runet Awards. In 2025, it became the awards’ strategic partner and even established a special category called Internet in the Mother Tongue to mark the 15th anniversary of the country-code Cyrillic domain .РФ. The category is open to projects that help preserve and develop Russia’s minority languages in cyberspace, making the internet accessible to everybody, and create content in the minority languages to strengthen our country’s cultural diversity.
“Since 2025, the .РФ zone has been offering the option of registering domain names using the characters from 17 official minority languages of the Russian republics. It is a step that opens new horizons for promoting multilingualism online. We invite those who help produce content in the languages of ethnic groups living in Russia and make the multilingual Runet accessible to every Russian citizen, to participate,” Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Andrey Vorobyev pointed out.
The Runet-2025 Awards’ main theme is Dream Code. In addition to the usual categories, there will be new categories for businesses that go in line with the latest trends and challenges of the digital transition: Russian Code, E-Commerce, Creative Industries, Journalist Project in IT, Blog Project in IT, Cloud Solution of the Year, Digital Legacy, and others. This year’s contest also focuses on online safety. The full list of categories is available on the official website.
For the first time in history, the awards program includes an IT ball with a live orchestra and professional performers. Organizers of the awards decided to support the tradition of Russian balls by adding a digital component.
In other ceremony-related events, an exhibition and a charity auction will be held for paintings created to mark the business sessions of the 2025 Russian Internet Forum. All proceeds will go toward supporting talented young people in the IT industry.
The program also includes the inauguration of the Women’s Club, and a news conference of the Russian Association of Electronic Communications.
