On October 15, Moscow hosted the eighth Golden Lance Award ceremony, the premier professional accolade for the freelance community in Russia and the CIS. The event recognized the best freelance projects of 2025 across nine categories.
Speakers highlighted that freelancers are key drivers of growth in the digital space. They are the professionals who build websites, launch brands, and help businesses establish and enhance their online presence. Often, a freelancer is the first to advise a client to register a domain in the .RU or .РФ zone as a sign of trust, localization, and digital identity.
The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has traditionally partnered with the award, supporting the development of the self-employed professional community.
Irina Pyzhova, editor-in-chief of the Coordination Center’s websites, presented the award for the Best Project in IT and Technology. The winner was Tom Trunov, the creator of the Porekam.ru water travel website, which integrates shipping company APIs and enables ticket booking.
“Developers are the driving force of the internet, creating new services and technologies. We engage deeply with the IT community by providing training through the Поддерживаю.рф project, offering consulting, and helping to implement Cyrillic and other scripts in domain names and email addresses in national languages,” Irina Pyzhova emphasized.
“Season eight is not just a sequel – it’s about maturity, unity, and confidence. We no longer need to prove that freelancing is a real job. We are showing that it is now a culture. I thank everyone who was with us today. You are the ones changing the future!” concluded Kirill Anoshin, Director of the National Freelancers Guild and the initiator and organizer of the Golden Lance Award.
