On Wednesday, September 3, the third meeting of the Working Group on finalizing the rules for registering domain names in .RU and .РФ and other regulatory documents was held. The Working Group, established in July, was tasked with considering the feasibility of introducing changes to the procedures for providing domain name registration services, as well as to the requirements for accredited organizations (registrars).
The meeting focused on proposals to clarify the requirements for accredited organizations (registrars). A number of proposals were submitted by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, while others came directly from registrars.
Participants also considered an issue raised earlier at the extended meeting of the Coordination Center’s Committee for the Development of the Domain Space. The matter concerned the need for registrars to provide a service for receiving and processing user requests regarding illegal use of domain names (DNS Abuse), and the possible inclusion of this requirement in the list of conditions for accreditation.
The next meeting of the Working Group is scheduled for September 23. Participants plan to review proposed amendments to the Accreditation Agreement and discuss potential changes to the Regulation On the Procedures to be Applied in Case of Disputes over Domain Names.
