On July 23, specialists from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ conducted another interactive digital safety lesson for primary school pupils at a daytime summer camp of Bytic Technology Park for Children. The event included a lesson on internet safety and an educational game-quiz Study the Internet and Govern It!
Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, told children about various principles of safe online conduct, explained the meaning of information safety and discussed ways of exposing online threats, including the actions of cyber-scammers. Although the summer camp session involves 6-11-year-old children, the subject evoked genuine interest and a lively discussion. In all, 36 children and five camp leaders took part in the lesson.
“Over the last few years, we have been including digital literacy lessons in the programs of our summer sessions, and we can see that they are highly important for the children. Not only do these lessons expand their knowledge of the internet, but they also form a responsible attitude toward cyber-space. We are confident that these skills will become a solid foundation of their safe and well-thought-out digital future,” Bytic Fund Director Darya Kalabukhova noted.
After the lesson, the children were invited to take part in the quiz Study the Internet and Govern It! Alina Samokhina, a PR specialist with the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, conducted the quiz. The three teams taking part in the quiz displayed their prowess in the field of digital technologies. The quick-witted and well-informed players confidently answered difficult questions, as the teams tried to surge ahead of one another while racing to victory.
Every player received memorable prizes, including souvenirs from the national domains registry and the project Study the Internet andGovern It!, as well as colorful comic books on digital literacy.
