Preparations for TLDCON 2025 are gaining momentum

Preparations are well underway with the 18th International Conference of Administrators and Registrars of National Top-Level Domains of the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe (TLDCON 2025) just two weeks away. A delegation from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ recently visited Kaliningrad to assess the progress and ensure everything is on track for the upcoming event.

The delegation included Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center; Andrey Aleinikov, Head of the Public Relations Group, and Alina Samokhina, PR specialist. Yevgeny Kuskevich, Head of the .SU domain registry at RIPN, also joined the working visit. This year, the Russian Research Institute for the Development of Public Networks became the anniversary partner of the conference. The year 2025 marks a milestone for the .SU domain, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary on September 19.

One of the key highlights of the trip was a visit to the office of this year’s host organization, Ardis, the leading accredited registrar in the Northwestern Federal District. During a meeting with Ardis Executive Director Ilya Krukover, the main stages of collaboration in preparation for the conference were outlined.

Special attention during the visit was given to the educational track of TLDCON 2025. The delegation met with Viktoria Belyakova, Director of Gymnasium No. 32 in Kaliningrad, and Svetlana Potapenko, Deputy Director for Scientific and Methodological Work. The discussion focused on the key formats and structure of the educational program, which is expected to engage more than 500 school and university students from Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad Region.

The delegation also finalized the cultural program for the conference. Its centerpiece will be the Museum of the World Ocean, a unique scientific and educational venue that conference participants will have the opportunity to explore as part of the guided excursion program.

As part of the visit, the delegation also inspected and conducted technical tests at the conference venue – the Holiday Inn’s event halls. Alongside technical specialists, they reviewed the plenary and breakout session spaces, assessing the infrastructure and overall readiness of the facility.

This trip marked a significant milestone in the preparation for TLDCON 2025, providing an opportunity to finalize key organizational and content-related aspects of the event through in-person coordination.

Participation in the conference is free, and registration is now open.
