From June 30 to July 11, 2025, fifteen second-year students from the Applied Digital Philology program at the Institute for Digital Development of Humanities (Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, RUDN University) took part in a summer internship at the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.
The program began with an introductory session at the Coordination Center’s office, where students were introduced to the Center’s mission, its role in the development of the Russian segment of the internet, and its key areas of activity.
During the two weeks, students worked on creative projects at the intersection of digital communications, internet ethics, and media production, such as developing slogans and souvenir designs, writing scripts for webinars and online tournaments, and composing poems on cybersecurity and digital hygiene for schoolchildren.
The interns demonstrated strong engagement, creativity, and a clear interest in shaping the digital environment.
“Today’s digital world requires not just technical specialists, but also individuals with a humanitarian mindset – those who can articulate meaning, work with language and cultural context, and understand how users think. The internship gave students a firsthand look at how humanitarian knowledge can serve as a vital resource in developing digital products that inform, protect, and engage users,” said Alina Samokhina, head of the internship.
The results of the internship will be integrated into the Coordination Center’s future projects. The internship was conducted under the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and RUDN University.
