On June 25, Weblandia – a catalog of the best online resources for children and teenagers – hosted its regular performance-review webinar. The event featured presentations by representatives from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ responsible for the support and development of the Explore the Internet & Govern It! interactive educational project.
Over 2,000 specialists from libraries and organizations across 84 Russian regions attended the webinar.
A significant portion of the event was devoted to presentations of historical, literary, and art projects for young library users commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Highlights included The Joy of Victory, a collaboration with the St. Petersburg Metro; the annotated bibliography 80 Books about the Great Patriotic War; partnerships between libraries and military history museums; and a project to create a “military” library for teenagers.
Viktoria Bunchuk, Head of Social Projects at the Coordination Center, showcased hands-on educational tools from the Explore the Internet project. These resources help teach basic digital capabilities, internet governance, and cybersecurity through offline formats like the Memos game, the comic An Imba Error: How I Nearly Spilled Everything, the Explore the Internet board game and quiz, and the booklet The Anatomy of Digital Threats: Theory and Prevention.
“Most materials are available digitally – you can download them from our website and use them as teaching aids for children. Printed versions of the Memos game and the comic are also distributed at our events. If you’d like to organize a quiz or board game session, contact us via social media, the project website’s feedback form, or email at info@igrainternet.ru. We’ll provide guidance or even host the event for you,” Viktoria noted.
A recording of the webinar is available on the official VK page of the Russian State Children's Library, Weblandia’s main stakeholder.
