On June 6, Russia marks Russian Language Day – an international day of the Russian language established by the United Nations in 2010. Russia started celebrating this day in 2011, and also calls it Pushkin Day in honor of a great Russian poet, Alexander Pushkin, whose birthday was also June 6.
The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ invites everyone to take place in an online quiz timed to mark Russian Language Day: “Russian on the Internet: Spelled as You Hear It?”
The quiz will be held on June 6 from 11 am to 5 pm. Participants will be asked to answer 12 questions about the use of Russian on the internet. The quiz will have the form of a test. The Coordination Center’s signature prizes will be given to the first 10 participants to answer all the questions correctly.
The results of the quiz will be announced on June 9.
