On May 19, Uryupinsk hosted a methodological day titled State and Public Regulation of Information in the Urban District of Uryupinsk. The event was initiated by the Lyceum, designated as a model school for the integration of information technologies into the educational process, with the goal of engaging various stakeholders in the creation of a safe and supportive information environment for the younger generation.
Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, participated in the event. Together with Olga Rubtsova, Rector of the Academy of Innovative Education and Development, he presented the Safe Information Environment of Childhood project to educators, highlighting educational and outreach initiatives of the Coordination Center aimed at schoolchildren and students. As part of the program, he also conducted an interactive quiz titled Explore the Internet & Govern It!
He also presented awards to the winners of the anniversary Family IT Marathon. The first-place prize went to the Infinity team from Uryupinsk. Second place in the special category Best Post about the 2025 Marathon was awarded to a team that included a current Lyceum student and a Lyceum graduate now studying at ITMO University. The award was accepted by team captain Yekaterina Titilina, a kindergarten teacher in Uryupinsk, mother of a Lyceum student.
At the Uryupinsk Lyceum, Andrey Vorobyev congratulated students and faculty on the 15th anniversary of the Cyrillic domain .РФ. To mark the occasion, a special edition of the quiz Explore the Internet & Govern It! was held, with participation from 8th and 9th grade students. Six teams competed in the qualification round, following which two top teams advanced to the final. The students showcased impressive digital skills and a strong understanding of internet history and technologies. At the conclusion of the quiz, all participants received commemorative souvenirs from the Coordination Center.
“Our cooperation with the Uryupinsk Lyceum has been ongoing for three years, and this year we plan to expand our joint projects, especially in light of the school’s impressive renovation and new technical upgrades. I would also like to highlight the outstanding work of the teachers, whose students consistently demonstrate strong knowledge in the field of information technology,” Andrey Vorobyev said.
