Days of School Media were held on April 6-12, this year for 24th time. Every year, these Days become a major event that brings together hundreds of young journalists from all over the country. Its daily program offers a whirlwind of activities, new experiences, inspiring encounters, learning, and sincere emotions — from the Big Game and Press Park to tours, theater visits, and, of course, the grand finale: the awards ceremony.
The winners of four large projects were awarded at the gala event: the 10th season of the Russian School Media Marathon, the 7th season of the Mediathon career guidance competitions, and the Traveling Exhibition project, as well as the 2nd edition of the Children’s News project.
This year, 120 school media outlets from 61 cities and 30 regions of Russia took part in the marathon, with 45 editorial offices, whose teams produced content in 12 categories of the Marathon throughout the season, showing the best results. During the awards ceremony, representatives of 37 media outlets took to the stage to receive certificates and prizes for their victory.
During the season, the participants in the School Media Marathon actively contributed their content to the Russian school press website lgo.ru, uploading 975 photo reports, 4,645 photographs, 375 journalistic pieces across various genres, 436 videos, and 924 dictionary entries, and completing 2,011 Hot Microphone profiles. Their impressive work reflect both dedication and a growing mastery in developing ideas, writing articles, filming and editing, on-camera work, sound design, photography, and illustration.
The events were organized by the NASHpress school news agency together with the Kosygin State University of Russia, with the information support of the Public Television of Russia (OTR).
The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ partnered the events and also established a special prize, IT Reporter: Looking into the Future, for young journalists who prepared reports on how digital tools can be used for studying, recreation, and development. The main prize and useful gifts from the Study the Internet and Govern It project went to the ZOOM media center’s team from the Dmitrovsky School named after Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Kislyakov in Moscow.
