On April 7, Moscow hosted the 15th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2025). The event brought together over 300 in-person participants, with more than 2,000 people following the sessions online. The forum’s program featured six themed sessions and included contributions from more than 50 experts. A highlight of the event was the Virtuti Interneti award ceremony, with this year’s honor going to Pavel Khramtsov.
The forum also saw the presentation of two new publications. The first was International Internet Governance, a book co-published by the Coordination Center and the Faculty of Global Studies at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). The second was a collection of original essays titled The Internet Today and Tomorrow, compiled by the Center for Global IT Cooperation especially for RIGF 2025. Now in its fifth year, the Center continues to bring together leading industry experts to share insights on the digital economy and the evolving information space. Discussions this year focused on the introduction of end-to-end technologies, strengthening Russia’s internet segment, and the sustainable development of the IT sector. The new collection aims to foster inter-agency dialogue, broaden professional discourse on current digitalization challenges, and encourage balanced approaches to Russia’s international cooperation in a rapidly changing global environment.
A detailed summary of RIGF 2025 is now available on the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ website.
