International Internet Governance book presented at RIGF 2025

On April 7, the International Internet Governance book, published by the Coordination Center jointly with the Department of World Politics at MGIMO University, was presented at the 15th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2025).

The book was edited by Yelena Zinovyeva, professor at the MGIMO Department of World Politics, Ph.D. in Political Science. In her remarks, she thanked the Coordination Center for cooperation and emphasized that the book would be useful not only for the scientific community and students, but also for anyone interested in global internet governance issues.

Yelena Zinovyeva noted that the book brought together a strong team of Russian authors, experts from various scientific schools and universities such as MGIMO, HSE University, the Diplomatic Academy of the Foreign Ministry, St. Petersburg State University, and RANEPA, which systematically address internet governance issues.

The book reflects the Russian view on the international agenda, including the most acute topics such as the Global Digital Treaty, artificial intelligence, distributed registries and blockchain. We also considered our vision of digital and technological sovereignty. This book also attempts to lay the foundations for a Russian internet governance school so that Russian experts and researchers are heard and receive well-deserved recognition throughout the world,” Yelena Zinovyeva said.

Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Andrey Vorobyev also praised the potential of the new internet governance book. He highlighted that the International Internet Governance book would be relevant to more than experts of digital technologies and international politics alone, but also to all internet users.

The book offers valuable information on how changes in the digital space can affect the future of the internet and our interaction with it. The Coordination Center initiated the Russian translation and release of Jovana Kurbalija’s book, Internet Governance, thanks to which Russian readers became acquainted with a foreign view of the internet governance process. This new book, which we presented at the forum, considers Russian views and approaches; and we are grateful to Yelena Zinovyeva and the team of the authors for the work they did. I am sure that this book by Russian authors will become a reliable assistant in popularizing the topic of internet governance and attracting young people to this process,” Andrey Vorobyov noted.

The International Internet Governance e-book can be found on the Coordination Center’s website.
