“The conference effectively highlighted the discussion on applying a multistakeholder approach to the management of national domains. The experience of national domain registries in the Asia-Pacific region demonstrates the importance of considering the views and interests of various stakeholders, including the technical, academic, and civil communities, when making decisions. At the same time, the role of the state is becoming increasingly significant. At the global level, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ participates in internet governance processes as part of the technical community, representing the Russian registry in international initiatives such as ITU, IGF, ccNSO, ICANN, RCC, APTLD, and the Regional and Steering Groups on the Universal Acceptance of Non-Latin Domains and Email Addresses, and others. The multistakeholder approach enables the development of balanced solutions at the international level, but its effectiveness relies on the responsibility of the participants involved. The main goal is to translate global agreements into tangible actions at the local level. Participation in such meetings and regional industry associations helps foster trusting partnerships,” Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Vorobyev said, summarizing the results of the APTLD87 conference.
The APTLD88 conference is scheduled to take place on September 8-11, 2025, in Belgrade, Serbia.
