Wards of the House for the Deaf-Blind get acquainted with the Explore the Internet & Govern It project

Last week, employees of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/РФ took part in the Humanitarian Mission to the House of the Deaf-Blind in Puchkovo, where they help adults who are deaf-blind, blind, and deaf. Together with the Humanitarian Mission from the Troitsk Volunteer Community, the Coordination Center employees brought food and sweet treats for the house’s wards undergoing rehabilitation.

In Puchkovo, the House of the Deaf-Blind, which exists on donations from people and organizations continues the “accompanied accommodation” project with the possibility of living and working in its workshops. And recently the House for the Deaf-Blind got a new branch at Shchelkovskaya.

In 2025, the House will provide assistance to its wards at a new level – following a discussion with the management of the House of the Deaf-Blind, it was decided to hold lectures on safe internet use for the wards of the two branches in 2025, as well as to familiarize them with the project Explore the Internet & Govern It.

For many years, the Coordination Center has been supporting the House of the Deaf-Blind in Puchkovo: we regularly organize fundraising among our employees and purchase humanitarian aid with the money raised: food, hygiene items, stationery, etc. Now we want to share not only food, but also knowledge and engage the wards of the House in our educational projects. Last year, the project Study the Internet - Govern it! had a special module for blind users, and now we want people whom we have known and helped for a long time to be able to use this opportunity,” said Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.

Everyone can become a friend and donor of the House of the Deaf-Blind, and you can also order gifts made by the House’s wards in their charity shop.
