Call for RIGF 2025 topics concludes

The call for topics to be discussed at RIGF 2025 has concluded. Interested users submitted ideas for the program of the 15th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2025) between December 16, 2024, and January 25, 2025, with over 40 submissions received in total.

The topic of Combating Misinformation garnered the most attention: participants proposed discussing the challenges and shortcomings of traditional principles for countering harmful content and digital misinformation, comparing the actual capabilities of digital companies, identifying key threats in this field, and exploring alternative approaches to enhancing public resilience to misinformation. Additionally, they highlighted the need to address educational initiatives aimed at fostering systemic and critical online information assessment skills among diverse demographic groups. The Combating Misinformation topic will be included in the RIGF 2025 program.

Survey respondents also recommended focusing on the theme of Management of AI and New Technologies, including discussions on international standardization as a regulatory mechanism for AI technologies, developing a code of ethics for artificial intelligence, Russian and global experiences in AI legal and regulatory frameworks, trust-building technologies for AI systems, and safeguarding Russia’s interests in this domain.

We extend our gratitude to all participants who submitted proposals. The final RIGF 2025 program will be drafted after reviewing all suggestions and incorporating global trends and topics addressed at the Internet Governance Forum held in Saudi Arabia in December 2024.

As a reminder, the 15th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2025), organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, will take place on April 7, 2025, in a hybrid format.
