On October 24, the II International Youth Conference on Information Security was held at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The School was organized by the School of International Information Security of the Institute of Current International Problems of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Youth Council of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ became a partner of the conference and organized the section "Digital Space as a Point of Intersection of Politics and Technology", in which the members of the Council took part.
They talked about data sovereignty and digital sovereignty of states, information security in the modern BRICS Agenda, discussed the prospects for multilateral cooperation within the association, the development of online education in the Russian Internet segment, shared the practice of using neural networks to analyze threats and risks for young people in the digital space, and also talked about the exploitation of vulnerabilities of generative models of artificial intelligence in the context of generating malicious content.
The section was opened by Arevik Martirosyan, a research fellow at the Institute of Current International Problems and Head of the IIS School, who noted that the Coordination Center has traditionally been a partner of the conference. “For the second year, as part of the International Youth Conference on Information Security, we have been jointly holding a section where current issues of Internet governance are raised, and the key speakers are members of the Youth Council,” Arevik Martirosyan said.
Alexander Ignatov, a member of the Youth Council of the Coordination Center, spoke about promising areas of cooperation in this area in his report on the data management policy of the new BRICS member countries. “One of these areas is ensuring conditions for the free exchange of data, in particular, mutual recognition of the jurisdictions of partner countries as providing an appropriate level of data protection,” he said.
Karina Strebkova, a member of the Youth Council of the Center, in her report on the use of neural networks in the United States to analyze risks for young people, spoke about the interim results of work on a grant to study the configurations of the implementation of state youth policy. And another member of the Youth Council, Sofia Tyulyakova, spoke about the importance of data location and methods of collecting them to ensure information sovereignty as part of national security.
Following the conference, the five best reports will be published in the scientific periodical electronic journal "Bulletin of International Scientists", and the authors of the best works on the problem of threats in the field of international information security will become laureates of the National Association of International Information Security (NAIIS) Award.
