Third Cooperation Memorandum Between Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and VNNIC Signed During APTLD 86

Today, during APTLD 86, a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) took place. The document was signed by the Director of the Coordination Center for .RU/.РФ Andrey Vorobyev and the General Director of VNNIC Nguyen Hong Thang.

The Memorandum provides for cooperation in the development of Internet resources and Internet infrastructure, training of IT cadre, exchange of information and experience in the field of DNS management, development of national domains and a multilingual Internet, as well as joint projects on infrastructure and cybersecurity within the framework of international organizations.

This is the third memorandum of cooperation between the Coordination Center and VNNIC - the first was signed in 2016, and the second - in 2019.

Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Vorobyev emphasized that such cooperation is important for both registries of national domains.

"Our registries have a long history of cooperation, and this gives very good results in the field of information security and the development of domain zones, policies and rules for registering domain names. In addition, both our registries are developing domains in national languages, and we have developed constructive cooperation in resolving issues of universal acceptance of non-Latin domains and email addresses. But the Internet is growing and developing at a very high pace, and modern challenges and urgent tasks are reflected in the memorandum signed today. Our registries have many interesting developments in a variety of areas, and I am confident that the exchange of experience and knowledge will help not only our registries, but also all registries of national domains in Southeast Asia in the formation of a truly multilingual and multicultural domain space that meets the most modern standards of information security,” Andrey Vorobyev said.
