Today, a new podcast from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, “The Domain Principle” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the .RU domain and the Runet goes on air. The first season of the podcast will be devoted to the history of the Runet development: from its origins and first websites to Cyrillic domains and the inclusiveness of digital life. Listeners are treated to 11 exciting episodes that tell how the country's main domain appeared, who was at the origins of the development of the Internet in Russia, and what role top-level domains play now.
The podcast was created by the RAEK/Podcasts studio, and we met with the guests of the first season in the Ostankino.Fest park at the Russian Internet Forum and in the studio of the ANO Digital Economy. The podcast was hosted by Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.
The guest of the first episode is Andrey Romanov, Deputy Director of the Coordination Center. He was an active participant in the events that led to the creation of the Russian segment of the network and the emergence of .RU, and his signature is on the historical agreement “On the Procedure for Administrating the .RU zone.”
