The XXXIX All-Russian Forum of hosting providers, domain registrars, data center operators and cloud providers HostObzor was held on May 30, 31 and June 1. Since May 2024, representatives of data centers and cloud services have fully participated in the work at the Forum, which is reflected in the updated name of the Forum. The new venue was the Repinsky resort (St. Petersburg). The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ traditionally became a co-organizer of the Forum.
The program consisted of two streams. The moderator in the main hall was Georgy Georgievsky, Head of the Department for Work with Registrars and Users of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, and the work in the second hall was moderated by the Head of the Forum, Natalya Krapkina.
In the main hall after the grand opening, Evgeny Kruglov, a representative of Citadel LLC, spoke and presented the January HOSTER software package, a SORM solution for hosting providers. Then Maxim Darulis and Fedor Bogomolov from ispmanager talked about the partnership case with the Rusonix company, as well as new security features of server control panels. In the second hall at the same time, Technical Director of the Miran Data Center, Alexander Gusev, spoke about the transition to DCIv6. And Konstantin Nikolsky from Filanko Group presented the Magistralny data center.
Also at the Forum, Dmitry Baranov and Evgeny Zamri presented the Russian general-purpose operating system MSVSfera from Inferit, including specialized solutions for hosting providers. And Yaroslav Gorodetsky from CDNvideo told the audience about the company’s offers for hosters.
At the same time, in the second hall, Boris Meyer from Bonch IT spoke about automatic backup power supply products for computers and telecommunications equipment. The program of the second hall was completed by trainer and psychotherapist Evgeny Idzikovsky, who spoke about how to work while minimizing stress.
Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Vorobyev, Head of the Department for Work with Registrars and Users of the Center Georgy Georgievsky, Chief Analyst Maria Kolesnikova, Head of Special Projects of the Center Evgeny Pankov and Infrastructure Consultant Vadim Mikhailov came into the picture as speakers of domain section of the Coordination Center.
The section was opened by Andrey Vorobyev with industry GR news. He spoke about upcoming initiatives and expectations for changes in regulatory documents. Then, Georgy Georgievsky made a report on how the Coordination Center works with domain name administrators of registrars whose accreditation has been terminated, and presented work statistics for six months. Vadim Mikhailov presented the results of a study of support for internationalized email addresses by mail servers of domain names in .РФ and .RU.
Leading specialist of the Technical Center for Internet Pavel Voronkov spoke about the work of the TCI certification center - about the types of certificates issued and protection from external threats, including those caused by the application of sanctions.
The Head of Special Projects of the Center, Evgeny Pankov, highlighted the dynamics of the number of requests in the Domain Patrol, the results of processing these requests, and also shared forecasts for the future. Evgeny also spoke about the current situation with new candidates for registrars and the accreditation algorithm.
Within the domain section, an intense discussion erupted over domain name inheritance. It was decided to make this one of the main topics of the upcoming autumn Host Review.
An important event of the XXXIX HostObzor was the presentation of the ispmanager certificate from “Поддерживаю.РФ” confirming that the control panel of the web server and ispmanager 6 sites for the Debian 11 OS implements the requirements of the Silver level of criteria for the Universal Acceptance of.РФ. In particular, support for Cyrillic mail has been added to the control panel. ispmanager users have the opportunity to create and work with Cyrillic email addresses that use Russian alphabet characters before and after the @ sign.
