In honor of the Runet's 30th anniversary, the Russian Internet Forum gains new formats: RIF in the City 2024 will take place on May 27-28 as a city Internet festival in the Ostankino.Fest park, and on May 29 at the iConText Group site, where the topic of information security will be discussed online.
Spring RIF is, first of all, a meeting of like-minded people. Participants will have 3 busy days: a conference program in 4 streams, a lecture on an open stage, master classes, an exhibition and techno fair, an evening show and much more.
The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ will also hold many exciting events at RIF in the City. The Forum will open on May 27 with the analytical panel “Runet is 30. What’s Next?”, which will be addressed by the Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Vorobyev. He will talk about the results with which .RU celebrates its 30th anniversary, and about the development trends of the Russian domain space in the coming years.
At 2 p.m., on the stage of RIF in the City, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation will present awards to honored workers of the IT industry for their services in the formation and development of the Russian segment of the Internet and many years of fruitful work and in honor of the 30th anniversary of .RU and Runet itself.
“DOT Journalism 2024” ‒ competition, in which hundreds of journalists from all over the country take part every year ‒ will start At 16:00. This year, one of the topics of the competition will be the history of the Runet, and both professional journalists and teenagers and young people under the age of 18 will be able to take part in the competition.
At 18:30, the traditional domain section will be held in the tent of the Coordination Center: “Domain .RU is 30, .РФ is 14, .ДЕТИ is 10 years old. But We are still Discussing: Do Businesses Need Domains?”. Over the past 30 years, the Runet has undergone enormous changes, but one thing has remained unchanged: domains as the basis of its existence. Participants in the section will discuss whether business in the era of social networks and instant messengers should attach importance to domain names, analyze the role of domains as a key tool for brand identification and promotion of projects on the Internet, talk about the most high-profile news and flights and find out why, despite all technological advances, domains remain a key component of digital ecosystems.
Also on May 27-28, in the tent of the Coordination Center, participants will have competitions and quizzes for the 30th anniversary of .RU and Runet, where they can win prizes and gifts from the Center and registrars.
