On May 3, a meeting of the Youth Council of the Coordination Center was held at the office of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.
The meeting participants discussed the results of past events and projects, cooperation with other youth initiatives, as well as plans for the coming months, in particular, participation in specialized scientific conferences. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the Internet Governance Forum of the UN (IGF 2024), which will be held in December this year in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). Members of the Council contributed to the participation of the Russian youth community in this Forum - the Youth Council submitted several applications to conduct their own sessions within the IGF.
“Our Council brings together truly passionate people who want to contribute to Internet Governance in a variety of areas. The main result of our work and the development of Center’s youth projects, such as the Summer School on Internet Governance, a Special Course for the Youth within the RIGF and the Youth Council, is the formation of a community of interests, all participants of which can be useful to each other,” Chairman of the Youth Council Andrey Aleinikov said.
He added that as a result of the synergy of efforts of all participants in the youth community, truly interesting projects are obtained, such as, for example, the “Digital Reality” podcast, in which, current news from the digital world — from technical and regulatory issues the introduction of new Internet protocols to the responsibility of Internet platforms for the content published on them — is discussed weekly together with leading experts in the IT industry.
We remind you that in the summer we will begin accepting applications for the new composition of the Youth Council. We will announce the enrollment in our further publications.
