Today, on May 5, the Belarusian ccTLD .BY celebrates its 30th anniversary.
The national domain zone .BY was delegated to Belarus on May 5, 1994, and this day marked the beginning of the successful history of the development of the Belarusian domain zone, which today has more than 132,000 domains, with which 6 accredited registrars work.
A domain name in the .BY zone can be registered for 1 or 2 years, and then renewed an unlimited number of times for 1 or 2 years at the choice of the domain owner.
In addition to .BY, Cyrillic .БЕЛ, which now has more than 16,000 registered names, was launched in 2014.
The Coordination Center and the .BY Registry have had many years of fruitful cooperation, and this year the International conference for ccTLD registries and registrars of CIS, Central and Eastern Europe (TLDCON 2024) will be held on September 5-6 in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.
