On April 8, as part of the educational day 14 of the Russian Internet Governance Forum, a solemn signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation took place between the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba (RUDN). The document was signed by the Director of the Center Andrey Vorobyev and the rector of RUDN University Oleg Yastrebov.
The memorandum is aimed at creating a system of long-term effective and mutually beneficial cooperation with the goal of implementing joint programs in the field of educational, methodological and research activities, increasing the security of the Internet and preventing the Internet and DNS Abuse, increasing the level of knowledge about Universal Acceptance internationalized Internet identities, as well as expanding the use of the Internet, Internet Governance and increasing the level of digital literacy of users.
Within the framework of the Memorandum, additional professional retraining programs and basic educational programs in the field of IT technologies will be developed and implemented, activities will be carried out for the professional guidance of students and the examination of master's programs.
Experts from the Coordination Center will take part in seminars, scientific and scientific-practical conferences, forums, round tables and other events held by RUDN, as well as conduct master classes, trainings, business games, etc. for RUDN students. RUDN University students will have the opportunity to undergo and internships at the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, as well as at the Center’s partner companies.
“The Memorandum of Cooperation between the Coordination Center and RUDN University was signed on the eve of the 14th Russian Internet Governance Forum, on an educational day when Experts of the Coordination Center and forum speakers conduct lectures, seminars, and master classes for university students. Today, one of our common main tasks is to build human resources and attract young specialists both in the field of ICT and information security, and in broader areas that contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about how the Internet works and works, and to increase the digital literacy of users. I am confident that our Memorandum will contribute to solving this problem,” Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, said.
After signing the Memorandum, specialists from the Coordination Center met with RUDN students. The chief analyst of the Center, Maria Kolesnikova, gave a lecture “Preserving Multilingualism on the Internet,” and the Head of special projects of the Center, Alexander Drozdov, held a quiz on the game “Study the Internet & Govern It!” and awarded prizes to the winning teams.
Also on this day, the Director of the Center Andrey Vorobyev, the chairman of the Youth Council of the Center Andrey Aleinikov and the legal adviser of the Center Ekaterina Evteeva took part in the round table “Digital Territory of law: Problems and Prospects” at RGAIS. They spoke about the work, projects and events of the Coordination Center. And the chief researcher of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Research Institute of Radio Vladimir Minkin gave a lecture for MTUSI students “Forum of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS): History, Status and Prospects.”
