Study the Internet Spring Mentor School kicks off

On April 1, the Study the Internet Spring Mentor School kicked off. This is an advanced training program for teachers, which involves receiving basic knowledge about the history and structure of the internet, the processes of web governance and internationalization, and most importantly, skills in teaching digital literacy and introducing digital tools into the educational process. Training is conducted online via GetCourse.

The school was initiated by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ together with the Academy for Innovative Education and Development based on the interactive educational project Study the Internet & Govern It.

More than 350 specialists working with children and young people applied for participation. Most of the applicants are from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Chuvash Republic, and the Moscow, Novosibirsk, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov regions. Sixty-two applicants, mostly computer science teachers, librarians and continuing education teachers, passed the preliminary selection by completing a test and were enrolled in the main course of the School.

The School's spring course opens with lectures on the history of internet development and infrastructure by Gleb Pyzhov, advisor to the director of the Internet of Things Association. Next, students will meet with experts who will talk about the education and socialization of schoolchildren in the digital environment, the regulatory and legal part of education, approaches to mentoring in an educational organization, as well as the rules for organizing your own digital infrastructure, cybersecurity and much more.

At the end of the training, mentors will have to complete a certification project – to form and train a family team to participate in an IT marathon on digital literacy, perform creative work as a captain and take part in an online tournament on internet culture.

Everyone who successfully completes the task will receive a state-issued certificate of advanced training, a certificate as a mentor for the Study the Internet & Govern It project, as well as access to a community of experts in education.
