On March 28, the Universal Acceptance Day keystone event will take place in Belgrade. The event will be held at the initiative and with the support of the Regional Coordination Group for Universal Acceptance of the CIS and Eastern Europe. The organizers of the event are the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation RNIDS (the registry of the Serbian ccTLDs .RS and .СРБ), ICANN and the Universal Acceptance Steering Group.
Participants will enjoy a rich program involving representatives of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and experts from our region, representatives of international organizations such as ICANN, ITU, UNESCO, APTLD, UASG, and others.
Chief analyst of the Coordination Center and head of the Russian Working group on Universal Acceptance Maria Kolesnikova will speak at the session Universal Acceptance in Local Communities: Progress, Challenges and Opportunities. The session participants will share their experiences in implementing universal acceptance at the local level and best practices for facilitating this process.
Universal Acceptance Day 2024 will focus primarily on showcasing the technical solutions and tools that are already available to software developers. Vadim Mikhailov, consultant on infrastructure at the Coordination Center, will speak at the session dedicated to practical cases of implementing universal acceptance. He will talk about the work carried out by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ to accelerate the widespread implementation of support for Cyrillic domain names and email addresses and will share the center’s best practices.
The conference will also include technical training on implementing universal acceptance of domain names and email addresses.
