The VIII All-Russian annual scientific and practical conference “Information Security and Children” was held from February 26 to March 1. The topic of this year's conference is “Training for the Data Economy.” The event is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the “Safe Information Environment for Children” project.
The Conference was attended by directors of educational organizations, managers and experts in the field of education, education, science, culture, representatives of state and municipal authorities, social workers, librarians, heads of children's and school media, as well as representatives of business and public organizations.
During the event, participants became acquainted with effective practices for preventing information threats and ensuring a safe information environment for educational organizations and studied the experience of developing an information culture for children and adults.
On February 28, the section “Formation of digital hygiene of children and youth as the basis for successful integration into the data economy of the future” was moderated by Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.
And on March 1, a plenary meeting of the conference was held at the Women's Union of Russia. The meeting was attended by Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, the chairman of the Women's Union of Russia Ekaterina Lakhova, the executive Director of RAEC Ekaterina Demkina, the first vice-rector of Moscow Pedagogical University Natalya Sklyarova, and the youth digital ombudsman Dmitry Gulyaev.
The Rector of the Academy of Innovative Education and Development, Olga Rubtsova, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the conference: “We, teachers and parents, have a huge responsibility for creating and regulating those information flows that underlie the presence of children in the online world. An All-Russian Expert Council was created to coordinate this important activity. This is where our big project “Safe Information Environment for Children” began, which turned ten years old this year.”
Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Andrey Vorobyev congratulated the project on its anniversary and announced the start of the VIII Family IT Marathon, which will be held from March 1 to May 15:
“The anniversary of the Safe Information Environment for Children project is an event where we can meet, exchange experiences and ideas with colleagues and like-minded people. I’m glad to announce the start of the eighth All-Russian Family IT Marathon here! Over the years of the marathon, more than two thousand people took part in it. This year, not only the “Safe Information Environment for Children” project celebrates its tenth anniversary, but also the Cyrillic domain .ДЕТИ. One of the tasks of the IT marathon is dedicated to the birthday of the domain: at the creative stage of the competition, teams will have to prepare in any convenient form a family guide to the catalog of the best resources with an address in the .ДЕТИ domain.”
Olga Rubtsova also spoke about the joint project of the Coordination Center and the Academy of Innovative Education and Development - the School of Mentors “Study the Internet”. She noted that the graduates of the first School, the idea of which arose at the beginning of summer in Altai, and was launched in the fall in the Republic of Karelia, included 50 teachers and educators from all over the country. “Registration for the spring School of Mentors is ongoing right now, which will last until March 26. We invite you to take part and gain new knowledge and skills necessary for modern teachers and mentors working to improve children’s digital literacy,” she said.
After the plenary part, the project manager of the Coordination Center, Evgeniy Pankov, and the chairman of the Youth Council of the Center, Andrey Aleinikov, held a Quiz “Study the Internet - Govern It!” and presented the participants with prizes from the “Study the Internet” project.
The Conference is organized by the Academy of Innovative Education and Development with the support of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, the Smart Internet Foundation and other specialized organizations.
