Role of youth in international projects: Digital world and diplomacy

Moscow hosted the 5th Digital Diplomacy Forum, timed to coincide with the International RUSSIA EXPO Forum and Exhibition. The forum brought together young professionals from countries in the Asia-Pacific Region, the CIS, Africa, the Balkan Region, the Middle East and from various Russian cities.

Leading Russian and foreign experts shared their views of major world events related to digitalization and digital diplomacy. They tried to predict the development of digital trends in 2024 and answer the main questions of concern to young people around the world.

Pavel Pozdnyakov, expert of the external communications department at the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, took part in the session, The Role of Youth in International Projects: The Digital World and Diplomacy. He presented the Coordination Center’s youth projects, and also spoke about the participation of youth council members in the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), which took place this year in Japan.

“The participation of young people in internet governance is an extremely important issue today. This is noted by everyone, especially by representatives of the IGF, as part of which we held joint sections on October 8-12 in Kyoto. The Coordination Center traditionally adheres to an approach of increasing the level of knowledge and digital literacy among young people when organizing its youth projects. One of the main goals of these projects is to provide space to implement ideas associated with internet governance and to provide the opportunity to exchange experience in holding such events,” Pavel Pozdnyakov noted.
