The Coordination Center has once again become a partner of the CTF Russian Cup, a large-scale information security competition among school and student teams
This year the event brought together participants not only from Russia, but also Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and even Brazil. Russian teams represent 60 different regions and 121 higher educational establishments - these are students of 112 universities, 54 educational institutions of secondary vocational education, 150 schools and one center of further education.
The winner in 2023 will be not one, but three teams! And perhaps this became possible thanks to a special innovation - now teams take part in one of three competitions:
- School test: for teams of schoolchildren of 3-5 people,
- Academic competition: for teams with participants from the same university or college of 5-7 people,
- Mixed competition: for teams of 5-7 people, where anyone can participate, regardless of their educational status, but subject to age restrictions - from 14 to 25 years (inclusive).
A total of 508 teams were declared to participate in the Cup, and at the end of the qualifying stage, 249 teams finished the game with a non-zero result. The semifinals and finals of the cup will be held on December 8-9 in Skolkovo.
Based on the results of the final stages, the winner of each competition will receive their own cup, a cash prize of 250,000 rubles, as well as prizes from partners, including the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.
The first CTF Cup was held in 2017. During 2017-2019, only winners, prize-winners and organizers of regional school and student competitions that took place during the calendar year could take part in the tournament. Starting in 2020, due to a decrease in the number of head-to-head competitions in Russia, the Cup organizers introduced a full-fledged qualifying stage - since then, any academic team in the country can compete for the title of tournament winner.
The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has been a partner of the CTF Russian Cup since 2019.
