Beginning October 10, applications are being accepted to attend the first Study the Internet School of Mentors, initiated jointly by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the Academy of Innovative Education and Development, based on the Study the Internet & Govern It interactive educational project.
This is a professional development program for teachers, students and postgraduate students in pedagogical departments, as well as other professionals who work with children and youth.
The school will help participants:
• to learn about the history, infrastructure and processes of internet governance
• to improve skills in teaching digital literacy
• to gain skills in integrating digital tools into the educational process
• to apply the legal norms and principles of mentorship in professional activities
Everybody who has successfully completed training at the school will receive a state-issued professional development certificate, certification as a mentor for the Study the Internet & Govern It project, as well as access to a community of education experts.
The School of Mentors is tuition-free, but the number of students is limited. To apply for training, fill out a form before November 7 and write a short essay explaining why you want to study there and what you expect from the program, as well as the goals and objectives of your training as part of your professional development. Enrollment will be based on the applications.
The first session will start on November 8 and end at the end of December. Classes will be held online. The program of the first Study the Internet School of Mentors includes lectures not only on the history of the internet, but also on the internationalization of addresses, the digitalization of society and education, education and the socialization of schoolchildren in the digital environment, modern digital tools in education, mentoring technologies, etc.
To receive certification, the participants will need to create a lesson or methodological guidelines on the topics of the lectures and using the tools of the Study the Internet & Govern It project.
Please note that applications for training at the School of Mentors are accepted twice a year. The second school will start in the spring of 2024.
