IGF 2023 starts soon: What can you expect?

On October 5, the Digital Reality discussion club was streamed, the main topic being the upcoming global Internet Governance Forum. IGF 2023 will be held in Kyoto, Japan October 8 to 12.

The main theme of this year's forum is The Internet We Want – Empowering All People. The participants in the discussion club talked with experts on what subjects would be discussed at IGF 2023, what sessions would be presented by the Russian delegation, and what to pay attention to in the extensive program.

Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, shared the history of the IGF parliamentary track. Natalia Filina (EURALO, At-Large, ICANN) highlighted the evolution of the IGF agenda and the representation of various stakeholder groups in the retrospective of the last five years. Arevik Martirosyan (Institute of Contemporary International Problems (IAMP), Diplomatic Academy, Russian Foreign Ministry) gave a general overview of the IGF 2023 program, spoke about the youth track and sessions prepared by the Youth Council of the Coordination Center, and he described the School of International Information Security.

Vadim Glushchenko, Director of the Center for Global IT Cooperation, touched on issues related to the development of the Global Digital Contract and spoke about the sessions prepared by the center and by his colleagues from other organizations. And the moderator of the meeting, Mikhail Anisimov (ICANN), gave a brief overview of ICANN’s plans for the Kyoto Forum.
