The School of Mentors “Study the Internet” was launched during the Internet Week held in Petrozavodsk.
The launch ceremony took place on September 12 at the Administration of Petrozavodsk. It was attended by the Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Andrey Vorobyev, the Head of Social and Educational Projects of the Center Olga Yakovleva, the Rector of the Academy of Innovative Education and Development Olga Rubtsova, as well as directors and teachers of Petrozavodsk schools.
“School of Mentors” is a professional development program for innovative teachers, librarians, methodologists and other specialists working with children and the youth. The project is organized by the Coordination Center and the Academy of Innovative Education and Development.
According to Olga Yakovleva, Head of social projects at the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and Head of the project department, the School has three main goals:
- To promote the improvement of the qualifications of teachers in the formation of the foundations of digital literacy in children and teenagers;
- To popularize the use of modern information technologies and tools within the educational process;
- To promote the digital literacy and competent use of information technologies among teachers.
Training at the School - including lectures on the history and management of the Internet, digitalization of education, tools for creating interactive lessons, as well as practical certification tasks< which is a test and lesson preparation based on online simulators of the “Study the Internet” project - lasts 6 weeks.
Graduates will receive a state-issued certificate of advanced training, a certificate as a mentor for the “Study the Internet & Govern It” project, a methodological manual for use in the educational process, and access to a professional community of “Teachers of the Future.”

Participants of the launch of the School of Mentors took part in the quiz "Study the Internet & Govern it!". Questions related to various aspects of digital technologies were answered by teachers, advisers to school directors, as well as students themselves.
